The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju, has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO. The World Heritage-listed volcanic island includes the country's highest peak, sets of impressive lava tubes and columns, and several crater lakes.
For shopping fun, head to Arario Museum Tapdong Cinema or The Islander. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Gwaneumsa Temple and Hangpaduri Hangmong Historic Site. Change things up with a short trip to Seongsan Ilchulbong in Seogwipo (about 1h 15 min away). Spend the 18th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Bulguksa Temple and Gyeongju National Museum. Explore Gyeongju's surroundings by going to Daegu (Donghwasa & Seomun Market) and Ulsan Theme Botanic Garden (in Ulsan).
