Shark Bay, Koh Tao

Long winding stairs end up at a cozy quiet beach. Rent snorkel equipment from one of the restaurants and be careful to not hit any corals. Great wildlife and casual atmosphere, you might get lucky and see a turtle (I came across an octopus)

The entrance through Haad Tien is great, because the road is not steep and it's very close from the parking to the beach. The price of 50 baht seems reasonable. The beach itself could have been better cleaned, assuming that it's a private beach and the entrance fee is collected. The right end of the beach was full of plastic bottles and rubbish. Not a lot of shade. The water was low visibility and a lot of rubbish and seaweed floating around the bay. Have seen better beaches for snorkeling, as the corals are completely dead.
