Admire the stoic and friendly Malaysian elephants at Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre. An endemic species, the elephants here are orphaned and many will be relocated to suitable habitats once rehabilitated and able to live in the wild. Watch the animals being washed and fed before getting the chance to ride one and swim in the river with them as they bathe. Due to the sanctuary's popularity, advance reservations are recommended. • Why is this called a sanctuary? For god sake, most tourists want to see wildlife in their natural habitat or something as similar to that as possible, they do not want to see circus acts, or humans...

  • A worthwhile place to bring children to observe and appreciate elephants at close range. You can feed (sugar cane available at RM3 per bundle) and pat the elephants. If you are lucky, you may be able to participate in bathing the elephants in the river. There is performance at 2pm by the adult and young elephants. Entrance is free, however donation is greatly appreciated. Toilets facilities available. Do bring MOSQUITO repellent.
  • Very informative place about elephants.its not zoo .All the elephants there are rescued from all around Malaysia for rehabilitation purpose. No entry fees,it's completely free but You are encouraged to give any amount of donations. They have sell sugarcane (elephant food) with RM 3.00 /bundle. You can feed the elephant by your hands. There also have elephant show at 2pm.
