Built in 1543, the castle occupies the central part of Toyama city, serving as a popular spot for locals to relax. The four-story majestic castle building, surrounded by a moat, also houses Toyama Folk Museum. Stop for a rest by the water and admire the castle from across the moat. Located by the Matsue River, you can also take a 30-minute boat tour to see the castle from on the water. You can walk to the castle from Toyaka railway station in 10 minutes.     Truly an amazing building. Standing awesomely up there above the moat.a truly pure white beauty. A spectacular creation. We got to the castle by walking, following the river.
