At Kondoi Beach, explore the expanse of white coral sand and take a swim in the Pacific's warm turquoise waters. Equipped with changing rooms and showers, the crescent-shaped beach offers excellent conditions for bathing and relaxation. Head out to the wooden piers, which jut out into the shallow sea, for a clear view of the horizon. Amenities include umbrella rentals, and nearby shops and food stands sell cold beer and snacks. Round out your visit with a leisurely stroll through the nearby village, where unpaved lanes of sand lead past traditional houses with red clay roofs, grand flower beds, guardian shisa lions, and low walls made of volcanic stone. Respect the Okinawan holy places for venerating the gods (utaki) by not crossing their thresholds uninvited. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Taketomi-jima holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Kondoi Beach and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Beautiful and relaxing water. Not much to see (snorkeling wise) but peaceful nonetheless.

Very good beach. A real paradise. Clear water, white sand. No jelly fish net, but the beach is shallow and in clear water there was no jelly fish visible. Too far away to get there by foot. You need a bicycle to get there. There are a lot of bicycle rentals on the island. Each rental shop sends a bus to ship terminal. The buses will pick you up from the ship terminal to the bicycle shop and will bring you back to the terminal at the end of the day. No need to make any reservations. There a plenty of bicycles to rent for adults and for kids. Just next to the Kondoi beach there is a city bus stop BUT if you plan to use it to return back from the beach to ship terminal, **reserve a bus in advance**. If you don't call the bus, it will never come to the beach to pick you up. There is a telephone number on the bus stop pole. Beach does not have any shops. Just a toilet, bath room and tables for picnic. Occasionally there is a small bus shop where a guy sells you some snacks and drinks.
