  • Excellent snow on a perfect day. No lines when I went, base camp restaurant has pretty good lunch food too. Rental equipment staff were helpful and friendly. The higher up lifts actually have windshields installed on the chairs which is surprisingly convenient too.
  • The snow is class…..the resort is….average. The hotel options are brilliant and really top class. The runs themselves are good and varied. Plenty trees to play in legally but even now that it’s not busy with foreign tourists, it’s tracked out by mid morning. They only had 3 restaurants open for the whole mountain and they aren’t that big. At King Bell hut there is 1 cashier….1….resulting in a very large line. Then you have to take a number and wait for your food…..the system is ridiculously convoluted. Other ski jos around Japan have got it sorted, so I was suprised that the supposed jewel in the crown has lagged behind in this manner. Niseko has become a victim of it’s own unbelievable success…..
