Ito trip planner

Not too far from the capital, Ito has developed a reputation as a resort town, with a fair portion of its area lying within a national park. A number of pleasant "ryokan" (guesthouses) offer onsite "onsen" (traditional Japanese spas), which use the naturally warmed water from the town's bubbling hot springs. Some of the ryokan have interesting stories to tell about the famous faces that have walked through their doors over the centuries. An Ito holiday also provides a good base of exploration for those wanting to look at the rugged cliffs along the peninsula's coastline.
