Built and rebuilt numerous times since 1653, Osaka Castle looms over its surrounding gardens, moats, imposing stone walls, gates, and turrets. This castle land area is massive. You can see it all in one day, but it will take at least 3-4 hours. Maybe even 5 hours or more if you are walking and stopping everywhere and taking in the scenery...

A very beautiful castle. One of the historical sites in Osaka you should visit. Easy access by subway. There is also a famous shrine next to the castle. Japanese people would visit the shrine almost every day for good luck and health. The shrine would be especially busy during the New Year 29 Dec to 4 Jan.

A great landmark to stroll around, the outer walls are particularly grand. It costs ¥600 for adults to go inside the main tower, but kids go free. The modern interior makes for an easy visit, but it does feel a bit like a hotel at times.
