A peaceful oasis in the midst of downtown Tokyo, Ninomaru Garden offers a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Created in 1968, the garden has a historic significance as well. Walk the narrow, winding paths searching for the remains of castle walls, moats, and gates, while enjoying the sights and scents of seasonal flowers--azaleas in spring, irises in summer, and camellias in winter. The pond with slowly-swimming long-finned koi fish attracts photography enthusiasts, especially during Sakura (cherry blossom) season. If you get thirsty, stop by the tea house. This is a big place! This visit was in July, so it was HOT, but there were lots of places to get out of the sun. I enjoyed walking around and seeing the manicured trees and shrubs.

Amazing! Beautiful Old Palace hidden in the city among the new and mighty structures of Tokyo. When you think Japan can not get more beautiful, you just see something fascinating and you change your mind, dragging you into an endless cycle. Love this city.
