Completed in 1891, when Vietnam was still part of French Indochina, Central Post Office boasts a fusion of Gothic, Renaissance, and French architectural influences. The building's unmistakably European marble floors and looping arches serve as a reminder of the colonial influence on the region. Look for the antiquated telephone boxes and maps painted on the walls depicting the telegraph lines that crisscrossed Vietnam and Cambodia. You can use this still-operational post office to send postcards from the onsite souvenir shops to relatives and friends. With our online itinerary creator, Ho Chi Minh City attractions like Central Post Office can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Such a beautiful building, wonderful learning its history. The building is really well maintained, and it beautifully clean inside and outside. The decor inside is also beautiful! They have lovely trinket shops inside as well for some souvenirs. Although they tend to be more pricey than the other main market in the city (but I suppose it depends on where you want to go). Definitely worth a visit when in the city.

One of our favorite tourist spots. When we first heard about it we thought it sounded ridiculous to visit a post office as a holiday excursion, but a holiday friend we met at the pool said we would love it. They were totally right. The building is lovely, there are nice trinket shops inside, and a little “book street” next to door where you can relax and grab coffee. As an added bonus it’s right next to the cathedral.
