Trip Planner: Europe / Turkey / Turkish Aegean Coast / Mugla Province / Marmaris District / Marmaris / Marmaris Marina
A mecca for people- and boat-watching, Marmaris Marina serves more for relaxing and enjoying the weather than anything else. The water is lined with restaurants and cafes where you can take in the vast sea views and watch the yachts sail by. At night the marina is lit up and the area takes on a dynamic atmosphere. For many it is also the base for boat trips throughout the area and an ideal spot for water sports. If shopping here, be prepared to haggle and be aware that the shopkeepers are known to be quite pushy. Located at the foot of the hill on which the castle is placed. The busiest area of Marmaris, especially in the evenings. Clean, beautiful, well maintained buildings. Dozens of bars, restaurants... more »
I don’t understand many of the superlative comments I have read. More than a Marina it is a huge Dockyard noisy and dirty. The quasi totality of yachts berthed there are desert. The restaurant seems a Company Canteen and food is mediocre. The swimming pool, recently renovated, doesn’t have any style and deck chairs are old and often broken. The sea bar Bora Bora, is expensively managed by rookies and you can swim just among berthed yachts. The supermarket shows old fruits and vegetables with no pricing at all. Technical assistance is overpriced. Pumping out black waters becomes an adventure with people without any basic knowledge of their job. Nobody speaks English with the exception of the ladies in the reception, some of them not shining for friendliness. Forget to leave before 9:00 o’clock as they at 8:30 are starting to be operative and nobody answers your VHF calls. Be prepared to sign 15 additional pages of rules when paying your stay there and to be chased and stopped by their personnel when leaving asking for exit papers(?) even if you left the reception 10 minutes before. Any positivity? Yes, it is the cheapest Marina in Marmaris. I would never choose it as my favorite though.
Good service and staff, perfect serving meals in marina restaurant.
