Saitama

Though a fairly large city in its own right, Saitama has become known primarily for its proximity to the capital, Tokyo.
Explore Saitama's surroundings by going to Karuizawa-machi (Old Karuizawa Main Street, Kyukaruizawa Ginza-dori, &more), Tatebayashi Museum No.2 (Former Jomo Muslin Office, Former Katai Tayama Residence) (in Tatebayashi) and Ashikaga Flower Park (in Ashikaga). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Japan Mint Saitama Museum, walk around Saitama Prefecture Omiya Park, browse the different shops at Cocoon City, and explore the world behind art at Omiya Bonsai Art Museum, Saitama.

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major aiports are Tokyo Haneda International Airport, Narita International Airport and Ibaraki Airport / JASDF Hyakuri Air Base. In July, daytime highs in Saitama are 36°C, while nighttime lows are 27°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
