Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at AEON Lake Town and Lalaport Shin Misato. Get a sense of the local culture at Mitsuzoin Temple and Omiya Bonsai Art Museum, Saitama. Explore Kawaguchi's surroundings by going to Yukemuriyokocho Misato (in Misato), Saitama (Saitama Stadium 2002, NACK5 Stadium Omiya, &more) and Itsukan-ji Temple (in Wako). And it doesn't end there: examine the collection at Visual Museum, head outdoors with Ario Kawaguchimae Koen Hiroba, take in the spiritual surroundings of Sangakuin Temple, and walk around Aokicho Park.

A little rural reprieve not far from the capital, the city of Chichibu draws visitors with its vibrant landscape and pleasant, low-key urban attractions.
Mitsumine Shrine and Chichibu Shrine are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get in touch with nature at Fudo Falls and Kirimogamine. Change things up with these side-trips from Chichibu: Nagatoro-machi (Dokoji Temple, Hodosan, &more), Minano-machi Mizuto Midorino Fureaikan (in Minano-machi) and Jomine Park (in Kamikawa-machi). There's lots more to do: stop by Yoshida Area, take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Get outdoors at Musashigaoka Golf Course and Kuni Country Club. Kitain and Kawagoe Matsuri Kaikan are good opportunities to explore the local culture. During the Edo period, many fudai daimyōs ruled small domains within the Saitama area.After World War II, as Tokyo expanded rapidly and modern transportation allowed longer commutes, the lack of available land in Tokyo led to the rapid development of Saitama Prefecture, where the population has nearly tripled since 1960.
