Rompin District travel guide

4.4
Scuba & Snorkeling · Outdoor Activities · Beaches
The most well-known attraction in Rompin District actually lies around 60 km (37 mi) off its eastern coast. On scarcely inhabited Tioman Island, you can trek through lush jungle, cool off in gushing waterfalls, visit friendly, traditional villages, relax on sandy beaches, and dive, snorkel, or swim among teeming coral gardens. Although the mainland receives relatively fewer visitors, you should still consider adding it to your Rompin District itinerary. Kuala Rompin, the district capital, has earned itself a reputation for sport fishing, in particular for the majestic sailfish. Meanwhile, its restaurants are famed for their seafood, especially the freshwater prawns, clams, and crabs pulled straight from the estuary on which the city stands. Inland, the district merges with the edges of Endau Rompin National Park--a wild, dense jungle filled with rare and endangered plants and animals.
