The only city in the world to have hosted both summer and winter Olympics, the resort town of Karuizawa-machi boasts clean air, impressive mountain scenery, and many outdoor activities and hot springs.

On the 24th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, take in the spiritual surroundings of Nunobiki Kannon, savor the flavors at Villa d'Est Garden Farm and Winery, then look for gifts at Misuzuame Hompo Iijima Shoten Ueda Honten, and finally get to know the fascinating history of Shinshu Ueda Hokkaku Kaido Yanagimachi.
