One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace. Get a sense of the local culture at Gwanghwamun Gate and Jongmyo Shrine. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Trickeye Museum Seoul, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Jogyesa Temple, wander the streets of Insadong, and get to know the fascinating history of Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Get some historical perspective at Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple) and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Meigetsuin (Hydrangea Temple) and Kencho-ji Temple. Step out of Tokyo to go to Kamakura and see Ugafuku Shrine ( Goddess of Money Washing), which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Nezu Shrine, get engrossed in the history at Kanda Myojin, wander the streets of Kagurazaka, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple.

Fly from Seoul to Tokyo in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train and ferry. In June, daytime highs in Tokyo are 30°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Kennin-ji Temple. Explore hidden gems such as Sanzen-in Temple and Byodoin. Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Uji (Mimurotoji Temple & Juhachi Shrine).
