Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Get some historical perspective at Island Countryside Settlement and Cape Hirakubozaki. Take a break from the city and head to Kondoi Beach and Yonehara Beach. Kick off your visit on the 6th (Thu): get engrossed in the history at Himeyuri Peace Museum, steep yourself in history at The Tower of Himeyuri, and then appreciate the history behind Okinawa Peace Memorial Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: make a trip to Nakagusuku Castle Ruins, then contemplate the long history of Sefa-Utaki, and then admire the verdant scenery at Valley of Gangala.
