Get in touch with natural beauty at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. The attraction bears the title of the country's first official wetlands reserve and plays a significant role as a resting habitat for migratory birds. The area's unusually large bird population was first noticed in 1986, when a call was made to preserve the naturally significant area. Today, the area is a popular site for eco-friendly tourism, as it features raised wooden walkways and viewing platforms surrounding the water. Bring your binoculars, as the area is an acclaimed bird-watcher's haven. The reserve offers plenty of educational resources, allowing you to learn more about the region and the animals within the natural habitat. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve reviews
A nice day walking at Sungei Buloh. Disappointed not to see any estuarine crocodiles, but you can’t win every time. I understand their appearance related to the incoming tide. Birds seen: A very... more »
Visited in mid September on a week day. Went there early about 7.30am. It's not crowded and we were lucky to be greeted by a crocodile at the bridge. It was low tide and it disappeared into the... more »
Have been guiding here since 1993. Every visit is a different experience. For visitors who can only spare about 2-3 hrs. I would recommend the Mangrove Boardwalk, Main Bridge n Main Hide. Good period to visit Aug to April it being the migration period. Time to visit from 0700-1000 or 1700-1900 where it's cooler.
Great place to go to for a 2-3 hour walk, also great place for all kinds of photographers. If you want to have an actual chance of spotting an aligator you should come during regular office hours mid-week when the crowd is smallest and wildlife gets a bit more brave. Otherwise you can still spot some amazing giant lizards, squirrels, and lots of spiders (don't worry- these are mostly st. Andrew's spiders- very good at catching flies but not venomous)

At this ecological wonder, visitors can learn about the reserve's rich biovidersity through guided tours. Sungei Buloh is home to rich biodiversity. There are numerous walking trails and wheelchair-accessible paths throughout the 130ha nature reserve, and visitors can discover its native inhabitants such as otters, crabs, water snakes and monitor lizards. Bird-watchers can take the Migratory Bird Trail that goes around the Buloh Tidal Ponds and admire resident birds like herons, kingfishers and sunbirds. Children will enjoy the Junior Adventure Trail - minutes from the Visitor Centre - where they can mirror the movements of a crab or mudskipper among the mangroves.
