Casa de Fierro, Iquitos

#23 of 72 in Things to do in Iquitos
Architectural Building · Tourist Spot
Likely the first prefabricated house in the Americas, Casa de Fierro is believed to have been designed by Gustave Eiffel, though there's no real proof this is true. Bought in Paris by a 19th-century rubber baron, the structure remains an outstanding example of  civil architecture. Don't miss a stop on the second floor, home to a small restaurant. Casa de Fierro is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

  • While it was designed by G Eiffel. There's is nothing much left of it glory. It is painted with aluminium paint. It was brought from France in pieces. But it the long run it was so boiling hot inside that it was never used as a house. It has been mostly used as shops since
  • A historic house represents the rubber age of Iquitos. It vee pretty but I think you should take care of that relic more.
