Historic Site · Religious Site
Take a relaxing walk through Maryama park to reach Hokkaido Jingu, a Shinto shrine that features a scenic courtyard and cherry blossom garden. Founded in 1871, the main building of the shrine was unfortunately destroyed in a fire in 1974, but restored four years later. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the shrine grounds, always changing with the seasons. The cherry blossom bloom attracts the biggest crowds, while in winter, the whole area is covered in snow.
