  • Koyasan used to be a "male only" place and women were allowed only up to this temple near the entrance to the mountain. Of course that is no longer the case but this temple is a worthwhile place to.....  more »
  • Until the end of the Edo period the whole area was off limits for women. In order to give them a place to worship Kukai, there were several Nyonindō (Women Halls). This is the remaining last one.  more »
  • Nice place to do omairi. Friendly staff who informs you that you can ring the instrument after praying. Free water and the nice mountain air to greet you outside.
