Resting at an area of 69 hectares (171 acres), a lake covers more than half of the public area's surface with Jade Flower Island at its center.     This is a pretty park to the NW of the Forbidden City that is enjoyed by many local families. You can rent boats in the summer and ice skates in the winter. There are a number of pathways to stroll...  more »

    A breathtakingly beautiful place at sunset and a stroll around was one of the highlights of my trip to Beijing. There were a substantial amount of tourists taking photos, so it can be difficult to take a good shot with your camera at these peak times. Perhaps sunrise would be quieter and a good opportunity for an iconic photo. There were some little paddlers I saw chained up at the waters edge which I assume can be used during sunny days. Well worth stopping by if you are a tourist in Beijing.
